AGRI-COOL at World Refrigeration Day 2025 in Cameroon

We are delighted to announce that AGRI-COOL will be showcased during World Refrigeration Day (WRD) 2025, taking place on 24–25 July in Douala, Cameroon, at the Akwa City Hall. The event is organised by the Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Professionals of Cameroon (APFCC), in partnership with U-3ARC, and will include exhibitions, short training workshops, and a major conference.

The APFCC is a key national and regional player in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector. As a member of U-3ARC, it is committed to promoting innovation, training, and sustainability across Africa. The organisation plays a central role in bringing together institutions, professionals, and civil society to foster knowledge sharing and policy development in refrigeration.

🎯 AGRI-COOL, SophiA and Natural Refrigerants on the Programme

On 25 July, during the high-level conference, Ms Gisèle BAOK from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) will present the AGRI-COOL project, highlighting its role in delivering sustainable cooling solutions to boost agricultural productivity.

In addition, Mr Madi SANKANDE, President of U-3ARC, will present the SophiA policy brief on natural refrigerants, emphasising their importance for Africa’s energy transition and environmental resilience.

Ms Aurélie ABOMO AYINDA (Cameroon team) and Ms Ina Colombo (International Institute of Refrigeration – IIR) will present the SophiA project, which focuses on solar-powered refrigeration for healthcare infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa.

• 24 July: Installation of stands, company visits, and opening of the exhibition

• 25 July:

  • 10:00 AM: Official ceremony and exhibition tour

  • 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Key conference on sustainable cooling technologies, featuring public institutions (MINADER, MINSANTE, ANOR, MINPMEESA, MINHDU), universities (IUT and Polytechnique Douala), and private-sector professionals
