Agricool presented at the 1st International Conference on Refrigeration in Africa

On 12 November 2025, Ouagadougou hosted the first International Conference for the Popularisation of Refrigeration in Africa, organised by U-3ARC with the participation of numerous international experts and institutional representatives.
One of the highlights of the day was a major session dedicated to the challenges and issues of the cold chain across the African continent. Halima Thraya, Chair of the Working Group “Cold Chain in Hot Countries” at the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), had the honour of presenting the Agricool project to an audience of sector specialists, institutional actors and entrepreneurs.
During her presentation, Halima Thraya highlighted Agricool’s innovative solutions for improving the preservation and distribution of perishable goods in contexts with significant climatic constraints. The presentation sparked lively discussions around the importance of the cold chain in strengthening food security, reducing post-harvest losses, and ensuring urban and rural populations have access to safe food.

Agricool’s participation in this event confirms its commitment to developing adapted and sustainable refrigeration solutions, a key driver for agri-food development in Africa.
