On 22-23 June 2026, the Unione Italiana Termofluidodinamica (UIT) hosted the 43rd<\/sup> UIT Heat Transfer Conference in Turin, Italy. As the Italian Association<\/a> of thermal-fluid dynamic, each year the UIT organises an international conference that enables scientific knowledge-sharing among the UIT members as well as the larger scientific and industrial community.<\/p>\n

At the Conference, AGRI-COOL consortium members from the University of Padua presented their work \u201cIce Storage for Cold Rooms: Numerical Optimisation of the Melting Phase\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The presentation focused on the melting of ice as the main discharge process of a latent thermal energy storage (LTES) unit. This is designed to provide cooling during the night, while the solar photovoltaic system powers a chiller that recharges the storage removing the heat during the day \u2013 within the framework of the AGRI-COOL project.<\/p>\n

The Conference provided a platform for AGRI-COOL and its workings to be shared among researchers, institutions, and industry members alike, through discussions of experimental, analytical and numerical results in the recent research of thermal science.<\/p>\n

We are glad to have the opportunity to share the progress and results of the AGRI-COOL project within the industry. In addition to the presentation, it is also an achievement for the project and our consortium members from the University of Padua to have their work published in the Institute of Physics\u2019 journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n
