The University of Birmingham hosted the Zero Emission Food Cold-Chain workshop on 18 May 2026. Held in a hybrid-format, the workshop fostered discussions on the future of keeping food fresh, while cutting emissions from the cold chain as well.<\/p>\n

This dissemination workshop provided a platform for panel discussions, talks, and presentations on projects focused on decarbonising cold-chains in the UK and internationally.<\/p>\n

In this light, the AGRI-COOL project was presented as part of the workshop. Delivered by representatives from the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), the presentation was demonstrated the link between agriculture and cooling, especially in the context of rural sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n

The presentation also shed light on the Know-How Exchange Group of the AGRI-COOL project, that brings together stakeholders and experts from the industry, academia, and partner projects.<\/p>\n

We are proud to share AGRI-COOL\u2019s increasing exposure in the industrial and academic community working on cooling technologies. Lessons to learn and sharing best-practices within the community will contribute significantly to strengthening the mission to decarbonise cold-chains while also curbing food insecurity.<\/p>\n
